I Think I Deserve Danger Money!

I mean I already look like I self harm from all the cardboard cuts on my hands and arms. But things got a teensy bit worse today.

While trying to rearrange a cage of boxes which was overloaded, a load of stuff fell off and I took a box of Quaker Oats to the head. Or more accurately it walloped me full in the face and has split my lip a bit on the inside and left a mark on my upper lip.

Not very attractive. And I thought Quakers were pacifists. Bastards.

November - The Month of Live Music (Part The Second)

Last night I went to see Muse at the MEN arena.

BEST! GIG! EVER!

They even played Muscle Museum, which is the song which introduced me to this amazing band back when I was in Sixth Form. Q has apparently named them Best Live Act, and rightly so.

I sang along at the top of my lungs, screamed myself hoarse and applauded so much my hands ache. And it was so worth it.

Matt Bellamy I am in awe. There is nothing more I can say.

November - The Month of Live Music

I went to see the Canadian band Metric in Manchester on Wednesday, which was a lot of fun. I was too tired to post about it yesterday, for reasons that will become clear.

The concert was great, Metric were very tight performers but I perfer bands who have a little more verbal interaction with the audience. Such as introducing new songs we haven't heard before.
But that is a slight thing.

The venue was small and quiet intimate, being at the front helped. If I had wanted to, I could have reached out and touched the bassist's effects pedal. But I didn't as that would be wrong. Standing in direct line with the amp also meant that my ears are still ringing slightly.

Metric made up for the appalling support group who took themselves far too seriously consdiering they had only done 8 gigs. The best part of their performance was when the cable fell out of the lead singer's mic and he was left silenced.

The only low point of the day was when we arrived at the train station at 11pm to find that our train had been replaced by a bus. A bus that took TWO HOURS to reach Chester station, instead of the one hour the train takes. So I eventually got into bed at 2am after leaving the house at around 11:45am. Which is why there was no post about this yesterday.

Also it would appear that Jesus lives, and works as on the road crew for Metric!
